Google Ads Appeal Letters for Peptide Brands: Templates That Get Accounts Reinstated

How to structure a Google Ads appeal for a peptide brand, with templates for policy disapprovals and full suspensions that address what reviewers actually look for.

Most peptide brand appeal letters fail for the same reason: they argue that the product is fine, when Google's reviewers are actually deciding whether the ad and landing page as written violate policy. An appeal that re-litigates the product instead of addressing the specific policy cited almost never gets reinstated. Here is how to structure an appeal that actually gets read and actually gets approved.

Before You Write Anything: Identify the Actual Policy Cited

Google's disapproval and suspension notices reference a specific policy, healthcare and medicines, unapproved pharmaceuticals, dangerous products, or the restricted drug terms certification requirement. Each requires a different appeal angle. An appeal written against the wrong policy reads as generic and gets rejected quickly, which also damages your account's appeal history for future submissions.

The Structure Every Successful Appeal Follows

  1. Acknowledge the specific policy cited, by name, not a general statement that you disagree with the decision.
  2. Show what changed, the specific ad copy, landing page content, or targeting setting you have already corrected, before asking for reinstatement.
  3. Provide evidence, screenshots of the corrected landing page, updated ad copy, or certification documentation such as LegitScript status if applicable.
  4. State the business context briefly, what you sell and how it is positioned, without repeating marketing claims that could themselves read as policy violations.
  5. Ask for a specific action, reinstatement of the ad, removal of the strike, or account-level review, rather than a vague request to reconsider.

Template 1: Single Ad or Ad Group Disapproval

Use this when a specific ad or ad group was disapproved but the account itself is still active.

Subject: Appeal for [Ad Group Name] — Policy: [Policy Name Cited]

"We received a disapproval under [specific policy name] for [ad group/campaign name]. We have reviewed the flagged content and made the following changes: [list specific edits to copy or landing page]. The updated version removes [specific claim or phrase that likely triggered review] and now reflects [research-use framing / quality signals / compliant positioning]. We request re-review of this ad group with the corrected content attached below."

Template 2: Full Account Suspension

Use this when the entire account has been suspended, not just individual ads.

Subject: Reinstatement Request — Account [Account ID] — Policy: [Policy Name Cited]

"Our account was suspended under [specific policy name]. We take this seriously and have completed a full compliance review of our account, including: [landing page audit results], [ad copy revisions across all active campaigns], [any certification steps completed, e.g., LegitScript submission]. We understand the specific concern was [restate the violation in your own words to show you understand it] and have addressed this by [specific corrective action]. We request reinstatement and are prepared to provide any additional documentation needed to confirm compliance going forward."

What to Attach

  • Before/after screenshots of any landing page changes
  • Before/after screenshots of ad copy changes
  • A compliance checklist showing what was reviewed account-wide, not just the flagged item
  • Certification documentation if applicable, such as LegitScript status covered in our certification guide

Common Mistakes That Get Appeals Rejected

  • Arguing the product itself should be allowed, rather than addressing the specific ad or landing page language cited
  • Submitting the same appeal language a second time after an initial rejection, without making any actual changes
  • Leaving the landing page unchanged while only editing ad copy, since reviewers check both
  • Vague claims of compliance with no attached evidence
  • Appealing before actually identifying which specific policy was cited

How Long Reinstatement Typically Takes

Single ad disapprovals are often resolved within a few business days once corrected content is resubmitted. Full account suspensions typically take longer and may involve multiple rounds of review, particularly for accounts with a prior history of policy strikes. Patience and a complete first submission matter more than speed, a rushed appeal that gets rejected extends the timeline further than a thorough one submitted a day later.

Prevention Beats Appeals

An appeal, even a successful one, is a recovery action. The stronger long-term position is an account architecture that avoids triggering these reviews in the first place. We cover the account-structure side of this in our account recovery playbook, and one peptide brand we worked with used exactly this combination of appeal plus structural rebuild to go from a suspended account to $67K/month in conversion value within six months.
